Chinese steel mills continue to announce maintenance
Amid an uncertain market, several steel mills have announced more maintenance periods for the end of December. However, as some steel mills have also resumed production in the month, the market supply of product is generally still plentiful, Kallanish notes.
Yangchunxin Steel has begun its annual maintenance on one wire rod mill from 18 December for 10 days, reducing 30,000 tonnes of wire rod output in total.
