Chinese steel futures remain steady
Chinese steel futures prices held steady on Tuesday, despite the continuing severe erosion in iron ore prices (see separate article), Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange meanwhile, the October rebar contract closed flat from Monday at CNY 3,677/tonne ($522/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 26/t at CNY 3,660/t. In Tangshan, billet prices were flat at CNY 3,470/t.
