Chinese steel futures continue to strengthen
Steel futures prices rose fairly sharply on Monday to continue tthe Chinese steel sector's bull run, Kallanish notes. Another major steelmaker raised flat products prices for May.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed at CNY 3,829/tonne ($571/t), CNY 52/t higher than on Friday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed up CNY 64/t at CNY 3,752/t.
