Chinese stainless steel exports fall, imports rise
China's stainless steel imports increased in September, mainly due to the return of Indonesian-origin supply. China's stainless exports meanwhile continued to fall, Kallanish notes.
According to Chinese Customs data, China's stainless steel imports reached 177,000 tonnes in September, up by 31.8% month-on-month and 74.4% year-on-year. During the first nine months of 2020, China imported 1.138 million tonnes of stainless steel, up by 28.6% y-o-y.
