Chinese shipbuilding completions break 4m dwt in May
China's shipbuilding completions reached a new high in May, and new orders are still rising rapidly due to strong demand, Kallanish notes.
China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) data shows that China's shipbuilding completions reached 16.86 million deadweight tonnes in January-May, an increase of 26.6% year-on-year. In May only, shipbuilding completions increased by 34.24% month-on-month to 4.054m dwt.
