Chinese September coke exports hike, imports droop
In summer this year, low demand suppressed Chinese steel output. This caused September coke exports to rise while imports dropped, Kallanish learns.
Monthly coke exports surged 26.5% from August and 154.9% year-on-year to 1.27 million tonnes, according to data from the General Administration of Customs. The average price meanwhile was down 19.6% month-on-month but up 6% y-o-y at $390/tonne.
