Chinese scrap trends lower on oversupply
Chinese scrap prices rose overall on-week, but oversupply in the scrap market caused values to fall late last week.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,858/tonne ($389/t), including VAT. This is down CNY 7/t from Thursday but up CNY 5/t from the previous Friday.
