Chinese scrap prices slump in declining market

China's scrap market prices were in a trough last week due to negative feedback from the steel market, with some steel mills suspending scrap purchases. On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,798/tonne ($404/t), including VAT.
