Chinese scrap prices boosted by short-supply
China's scrap market continued to strengthen significantly last week, and short supply caused spot prices to soar.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,422/tonne ($537/t), including VAT. This is CNY 7/t higher than Thursday and CNY 163/t higher than the previous Friday.
