Chinese scrap gains with recovering steel market
China's scrap market prices rose last week as steel activity picked up, and the market remains bullish over demand.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,086/tonne ($449/t), including VAT. This is up CNY 8/t from Thursday and CNY 45/t higher from the previous Friday.
