Chinese scrap declines as demand leaves
Chinese scrap prices have weakened in line with lower futures last week and are expected to remain stable during the coming holiday week as market activity subsides.
On Thursday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,844/tonne ($394/t), including VAT. This is down CNY 2/t from Wednesday and CNY 37/t from the previous Friday.
