Chinese rebar turns down on demand concerns

Chinese rebar market prices have started to decline despite futures prices strengthening agai on Friday, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,540-3,550/tonne ($500-502/t), down CNY 10/t from the previous week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange meanwhile, the rebar contract for October 2020 closed at CNY 3,626/t, CNY 22/t higher week-on-week and CNY 30/t higher than Thursday. Concerns…
