Chinese rebar rise on strong iron ore prices
The Chinese rebar market saw ups and downs last week, mainly affected by changes in iron ore prices, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,550-3,560/tonne ($500-502/t), up another CNY 25/t from the previous week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, meanwhile, the rebar contract for October 2020 closed at CNY 3,604/t, CNY 25/t higher week-on-week but CNY 2/t lower than Thursday.
