Chinese rebar prices rise on iron ore support
Chinese rebar prices have picked up on rising raw material prices, but sentiment remains stable, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,590-3,610/tonne ($516-519/t), up CNY 65/t from the previous week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, meanwhile, the rebar contract for October 2020 closed at CNY 3,832/t, CNY 55/t lower compared with last Friday and CNY 27/t lower than Thursday.
