Chinese rebar prices pick up but demand weakens

China's rebar market increased slightly before the Chinese New Year holiday, although demand remains sluggish, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,640-3,660/tonne ($530-533/t), up by CNY 5/t from the previous Friday.
