Chinese rebar prices continue to rise on demand
China's rebar market prices continued to rise during the last week, and strong fundamental news led to increased market confidence, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,410-3,420/tonne ($482-483/t), up CNY 35/t from the previous week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange meanwhile, the rebar contract for October 2020 closed at CNY 3,381/t, CNY 4/t lower from Thursday but CNY 8/t higher week-on-week.
