Chinese rebar market awaits construction resumption
China's rebar market remained quiet last week, with only a few sellers submitting offers to test market sentiment, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,360-3,380/tonne ($481-484/t), down CNY 40/t from last week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, meanwhile, the rebar contract for May 2020 closed at CNY 3,398/t, CNY 3/t higher from Thursday and CNY 73/t higher week-on-week.
