Chinese rebar holds, demand suspended
Chinese rebar prices kept flat last week, with spot trading steady despite stronger futures, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,760-4,780/tonne ($748-751/t), level from a week earlier. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange on the same day, the May 2022 rebar contract closed at CNY 5,013/t, up by CNY 68/t compared with Thursday and up CNY 60/t compared to the previous Friday.
