Chinese rebar gains on recovering demand

The Chinese rebar market rebounded last week amid the strong futures price uptrend. Spot market prices also increased, supported by recovering demand, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,510-4,520/tonne ($677-682/t), up by CNY 130/t from before the Chinese New Year holiday.
