Chinese rebar gains despite weak sales

China's rebar prices rose slightly last week due to news of production restrictions inTangshan, but limited sales growth has limited the upward momentum of rebar prices, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,550-4,560/tonne ($700-701/t), up by CNY 5/t from a week before.
