Chinese rebar falls, exams disrupt construction activity
China's construction steel market returns to losses last Friday after a short recovery in the middle of last week, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,030-4,050/tonne ($601-604/t), down CNY 100/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 4,196/t, down by CNY 13/t compared with Thursday, and lost CNY 69/t from the previous Friday.
