Chinese rebar drops on weak demand

Chinese rebar market prices continued to decline last week as demand fell. However, the rebound in demand on Friday only supported the market's short-term rise, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Wednesday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,450-3,460/tonne ($488-490/t), down CNY 50/t from the previous week.
