Chinese rebar continues to decline
Chinese rebar market prices continued their downward trend last week, as mill inventories started picking up, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,520-3,530/tonne ($498-499/t), down CNY 20/t from the previous week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, meanwhile, the rebar contract for October 2020 closed at CNY 3,659/t, CNY 33/t higher week-on-week and CNY 39/t higher than Thursday.
