Chinese rebar climbs amid fluctuation
Chinese rebar prices increased amid market volatility last week. Spot market prices climbed as trading volumes picked up.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,710-3,730/tonne ($521-524/t), up by CNY 140/t on-week. The January 2023 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,716/t, down by CNY 10/t compared with Thursday but up CNY 79/t from the previous Friday.
