China's private steelmakers hit 75% resumption rate

A report by the China Chamber of Commerce for Metallurgical Enterprises (CCCME) reveals that 75% of Chinese private steel mills have resumed production as of mid-March, Kallanish notes. It is expected that 600 million tonnes of crude steel will be produced through these private mills in 2020, only slightly less than the 626mt of output in 2019.
