Chinese pipemaker begins Oman mill construction
China’s Jiangsu Chang Bao Steel Tube Co. has begun construction of its prospective 50,000 tonnes/year capacity seamless pipe mill in Oman, with commissioning expected in mid-2017, Kallanish learns from Omani press reports.
The plan to build the mill, located in Sohar Port and Freezone, was initially announced last December (see Kallanish 8 December 2015). Neither Chang Bao nor Sohar could be reached for further comment before deadline.
