Chinese-other origin HRC price spread widens in GCC
China-origin hot rolled coil prices in the Gulf Cooperation Council have fallen $5-10/tonne since last Friday as mills look to sell March-rolling output before the Chinese New Year holiday, which starts on 10 February.
The spread between Chinese and viable non-Chinese offers has widened to $20-35/t. Japan’s Nippon Steel has yet to release allocation and price to the region for March rolling, notes Kallanish.
