Chinese nickel ore, stainless imports soar in August
China saw a roaring rise in imports of nickel ore, ferronickel and stainless steel in August, according to data from the General Department of Customs, Kallanish notes.
Nickel ore imports stood at 5.78 million tonnes, up 11.33% from July and 52.84% year-on-year. The Philippines still ranked first with a market share of 93.69%, while Indonesia supplied 113,200t, an increase of 139.33% on-month. However, China showed less interest in other regions.
