China’s July auto production remains strong
After Chinese automakers ramped up production after recovering from lockdowns and tried to achieve half-year production and sales targets in June, July production fell from June despite growth year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
July output of Chinese automobiles fell 1.8% from June but rose 31.5% from a year earlier to 2.455 million units, the quickest monthly growth so far in 2022, according to data from the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers (CAAM).
