Chinese HRC prices continue to lag futures
China's hot rolled coil domestic spot prices and export prices have continued to ignore the sharp rise in futures markets, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 5.5x1,500mm Q235B HRC was traded at around CNY 3,870-3,890/tonne ($534-537/t), up CNY 10/t on-week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2024 contract for HRC gained CNY 4/t from Thursday and CNY 64/t on-week to CNY 3,903/t.
