Chinese HRC market remains weak
Chinese domestic hot rolled coil prices remained last week at the lows of the previous week, with demand weak and futures prices beginning to fall, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 5.5x1,500mm Q235 HRC was trading at CNY 3,870-3,890/tonne ($562.66-565.57/t), unchanged on-week. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the October HRC contract closed CNY 20/t lower than Thursday and CNY 58/t lower over the week at CNY 3,846/t.
