Chinese HRC gains, imports raise concerns
The Chinese HRC market trengthened sharply before momentum faded late last week, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 5.5x1,500mm Q235 HRC was traded at around CNY 3,630-3,650/tonne ($512-515/t), up CNY 20/t from the previous Friday. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the October 2020 HRC contract closed CNY 28/t higher than Thursday but CNY 27/t lower over the week at CNY 3,515/t.
