Chinese HRC prices fall as imported stocks released
Chinese hot rolled coil prices have fallen this week, even though local supply is tight, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Tuesday afternoon, 5.5x1,500mm Q235 HRC was traded at around CNY 4,540-4,560/tonne ($696-699/t), down CNY 290/t from the previous assessment last Wednesday. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the May 2021 HRC contract closed CNY 17/t lower than Monday and CNY 208/t lower than last Wednesday at CNY 4,401/t.
