Chinese HRC prices continue to rise
Chinese domestic hot rolled coil prices and export prices continued to increase last week, but the domestic market slowed, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 5.5x1,500mm Q235 HRC was trading at CNY 3,700-3,710/tonne ($526-527/t), CNY 20/t higher from the previous Friday. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the January 2020 HRC contract closed CNY 62/t lower than Thursday and CNY 25/t higher over the week at CNY 3,556/t.
