Chinese crude steel growth outmuscles global production again
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output from its 64 reporting countries was 151.7 million tonnes in September 2018, up 4.4% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. China produced 80.8mt in the month, a hike of 7.5% on September 2017 and clearly again well over half of the world’s crude steel output.
