Chinese 2016 construction steel demand to stay weak
According to Macquarie Research, the consumption of steel for construction in China peaked in 2013 and will fall by -20% by 2020. Although housing sales will see a 15% on-year rise in 2016, Kallanish foresees a gloomy outlook for the Chinese construction sector with construction steel demand reducing again this year.
