Chinese commercial HRC slips below $500 cfr Vietnam
The Vietnamese hot rolled coil market ebbed last week in tandem with Chinese steel futures, Kallanish notes. Chinese HRC transactions reached lows last Thursday, Vietnamese trading sources say.
Deals for 3-12mm thickness Q235 were heard at $497-498/tonne cfr Vietnam, down from $513/t cfr on 19 July. Transactions for Q195 HRC reached as low as $495/t cfr Vietnam. “The level of $495/t is from a very aggressive trader and risky,” a Hanoi trader says.
