Chinese billet tumbles further, drags on ASEAN longs
The fallout in Chinese billet continues as steel futures continue to plummet, Kallanish notes. Weaker Chinese billet and long product prices are also depressing the import market for rebar and wire rod in ASEAN.
Offers heard for Chinese 3sp 150mm billet for October shipments are heard at $450/t cfr Malaysia and Indonesia around the middle of this week. This is a fall of around $10 from offers earlier this week.
