Chinese billet import market slips
Chinese import prices for billet are softening after peaking last week, Kallanish notes. A fall in Chinese steel futures earlier in the week triggered the weakening.
Indian commercial billet offers are currently pegged at $370-375/tonne cfr China, down $5-10/t week-on-week. Deals for Indian billet peaked at $365-375/t cfr China in the past two weeks.
