Chinese auto production thrives despite holiday interruption
Despite a month-on-month drop due to the Chinese New Year holiday in early February, China’s February automotive production still rose significantly compared to a year earlier, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
February output reached 1.81 million units, down 25.2% from January but up 20.6% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Year-to-date output thus rose to 4.24m units, up 8.8% y-o-y.
