Chinese shipbuilding activity dips in August
China’s shipbuilders saw a massive fall in completions in August, despite presiding over a healthy increase year-to-date.
August shipbuilding completions dipped -52.5% month-on-month to 1.54 million deadweight tonnes, according to China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (Cansi) data. Over January-August however total output still rose by 41.4% year-on-year hitting 31.32m dwt.
