China's Xinsanzhou closes one EAF
China's Xinsanzhou Steel in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province says it will shut down an electric arc furnace and reduce production capacity. The EAF stopped production since November 2017, and its capacity was planned to be eliminated in 2020, Kallanish notes.
This 50-tonne EAF has a 500,000 tonnes/year of carbon steel capacity. The steelmaker will not conduct any capacity replacement on this EAF.
