China’s wire rod export prices lift
Chinese wire rod export offers continued to be boosted by the strong domestic market this week.
On Thursday, Kallanish assessed 6.5mm diameter mesh-grade wire rod at $820/tonne fob China, up by another $5/t from a week earlier.
The stimulus of production restrictions on the market continued into this week. As more provinces announced their control of steel production, the expectation of tight supply caused prices to soar.
