China’s steel imports and exports maintain opposite trends
China’s steel imports and exports continued to follow opposite year-on-year trends in March this year, Kallanish learns.
March exports of Chinese finished steel totalled 7.89 million tonnes, surging 59.6% y-o-y and about 29% higher than the monthly average over January-February. The average realised price was down 4.9% y-o-y at $1,294/tonne, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.
