China’s steel exports slump in September
In September this year, Chinese steel exports slumped on a month-on-month basis due to sluggish global demand, while imports remained relatively stable, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.
Monthly steel exports amounted to 4.98 million tonnes, down 19% m-o-m but up 1.3% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. This took exports over January-September to 51.21mt, which slowed the y-o-y decline to 3.4% from 3.9% registered over January-August…
