China hikes first-quarter stainless crude steel output
China’s stainless crude steel output rose 36.38% year-on-year to 8.17 million tonnes in the first quarter, also exceeding the levels of the same quarter in 2019, Kallanish notes from the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprise Association.
Production of Cr-Ni, Cr-Mn, Cr and duplex stainless steel accounted for 3.46mt, 2.84mt, 1.8mt and 53,727t respectively, up 13.9%, 40.61%, 29.47% and 18.88% y-o-y.
