China's shipbuilding completions increase 3% in 2021
China's shipbuilding completions achieved a 3% year-on-year increase in 2021 to 39.7 million deadweight tonnes. Officials expect shipbuilding completions to continue growing this year, exceeding 40m dwt in 2022, Kallanish notes.
In December, shipbuilding completions basically remained stable from 3.87m dwt in November at 3.82m dwt, which suggests around 1.32 million tonnes of finished steel was consumed last month.
