China's scrap rebounds on production resumption
Chinese scrap prices have increased as steel mills resume production and lift scrap usage. However, Chinese mills have exercised restraint on scrap imports.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,800/tonne ($415/t), including VAT. This is up CNY 43/t from Thursday and CNY 136/t higher compared with the previous Friday.
