China's scrap prices rise as supply drops
China's scrap market returned to tight supply last week, as deliveries to steel mills fell but daily consumption rose, supporting prices.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,490/tonne ($530/t) including VAT. This is up by CNY 15/t from Thursday and CNY 35/t higher compared with the previous Friday.
