China's scrap prices fall on weakening steel market
The Chinese steel market fell sharply last week, and scrap demand contracted again causing oversupply.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,744/tonne ($586/t), including VAT. This is CNY 44/t lower than Thursday and CNY 66/t lower than last Friday.
